Cane Rosso (RIP)

When the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie, thats a cane, cane rosso. As the great frank Sinatra once said, "I can go on stage to make a pizza, and they'd still come see me", it totally makes sense.

The problem was, people weren't going to see Franky, they were coming to see a pizza.. The brunch game can be hard, and it's not often that a pizza place tries to dive into the brunch game, but

here we are. Cane Rosso, Sunset Valley, Austin, Tx. They have taken a pizza menu and have transformed it into a great mix of savory and sweet brunch menu that tantalizes the palette, quite impressive in the findingmimos book.

For those of you that like "hiking", You can park at the Sunset city center and take a 3.4 mile hike there and back to the extravagant views of the valleys of Sunset. Canne Rosso is just a stone throw away from the hike.

The Food:

Brisket Hash

I'll be honest, any dish with the word hash in it, and I'm already saying yes. If you add brisket and tots, i will call my wife and tell her i found a new love. . Served in a cast iron skillet

with green peppers and onions, this is a dish to be reckoned with. Ask for the yellowbird habanero sauce on the side and your taste buds will be dancing all the way to flavortown.

Josh's big biscuit

Josh made a huge biscuit, he put chicken in it. The chicken was good, and big. Josh did well. I like Josh.

Chicken & Waffles

If theres one thing I like, its chicken and waffles. The mix of sweet and savory just fires up my tastebuds like a Lion seeing a wounded gazelle. The fact that Cane Rosso fires up a huge plate coupled with

a bacon jam, makes you wonder why you'd ever eat anything else in your life.

The Katy Special:

So my friend Katy once realized that you can order their signature pies, but make it brunch style and put an egg on it. As much as I hate to say this, kudos to Katy. She

made this brunch item come to life in pizza form. They have several brunch pizzas on the menu, but keeping it simple with a friend egg on top of a neopolitan pizza is just magic.

The Drinks:

Cane Rosso's mimo game is bar none. At $2 for a flute glass and $10 for a full carafe, this place really knows how to be competitive. The best thing about the $10 carafe is

that theyre not premade and you can ask for the juice on the side. That flexbility always scores strong in the finding mimos books. 1 Orange rating for one of the best brunch places south Austin has to offer.
